Shadows & Glow Effects<\/span><\/h2>\n

Open Publisher lets you apply drop shadows and glow effects to both images and shapes directly from the Picture Tools<\/strong> or Shape Format<\/strong> contextual ribbon, with all controls updating in real time as you drag.<\/p>\n

Shadow Options\"Shadow<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Shadow Options pane gives you fine-grained, real-time control over drop shadows on both images and shapes.<\/p>\n

To open Shadow Options:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Select an image or shape on the canvas.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    In the Picture Tools<\/strong> or Shape Format<\/strong> contextual ribbon, click the Shadow<\/strong> button.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    The Shadow \/ Glow Options<\/strong> sidebar slides open on the right.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The sidebar contains five live controls<\/span>:<\/p>\n

      Colour Picker –<\/strong> Sets the shadow colour.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Transparency Slider –<\/strong> Controls shadow opacity from solid to fully transparent.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Blur Radius Slider –<\/strong> Adjusts softness. Low values produce sharp, hard shadows; high values produce soft, diffuse halos.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      X Offset Slider –<\/strong> Shifts the shadow left or right.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Y Offset Slider –<\/strong> Shifts the shadow up or down.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

       <\/p>\n

      All five controls update the shadow in real time as you drag. When you click an element that already has a shadow applied, the sidebar automatically reads the existing values and snaps its sliders to match – so the UI always reflects the exact current state.<\/p>\n

      Shadows are applied using CSS drop-shadow<\/span> filters on the element’s content wrapper, allowing the shadow to organically overflow the element’s bounding box without being clipped.<\/p>\n

      Glow Effects<\/span><\/h3>\n

      Glow is a specialised variant of the shadow effect, designed to make transparent PNG logos, shapes, and cutout graphics pop against dark or busy backgrounds.<\/p>\n

      To add a glow:<\/p>\n

      1. \n

        Select an image or shape on the canvas.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      2. \n

        Click the Glow<\/strong> button (sun icon) in the Picture Tools<\/strong> or Shape Format<\/strong> ribbon, located next to the Shadow button.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      3. \n

        A default electric-blue glow is applied immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Use the same Shadow \/ Glow Options<\/strong> sidebar to adjust the blur radius, transparency, and colour – creating anything from a tight neon outline to a broad, soft luminous halo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
